Married Adults

Married Adults

Welcome to the Married Adults Ministry

During that final day of creation, God created the most intimate relationship one can experience on this earth, the marriage relationship. God established this relationship between a man and a woman with the pronouncement, “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh” (Genesis 2:24).

Our married adult ministry at Capital Baptist Church exists to help couples build strong, lasting, lifelong marriages and to aid parents in their efforts to rear godly children for the Lord. Our ministry supports married couples through weekly Bible studies, yearly conferences and retreats, and elective courses that target specific marriage and parenting issues.

With all the conflicting philosophies and opinions about marriage and parenting, it is encouraging to know that we have the Word of God that is sufficient to give us all the wisdom we need concerning these relationships.

Yearly Events

Married Adult Activities Weekend
Four times a year the church sets aside four weekends for Adult Activities Weekend. This is a time when all Married Adult classes plan social outings as a class. This extends the fellowship time outside of the Sunday morning Small Groups. Picnics, potlucks, and parties are examples of past class activities.

Married Adult Conferences and Seminars
Capital encourages married adults to strengthen their marriages and parenting skills. The church hosts conferences and seminars to provide the information and resources. Nationally known speakers and authors are invited to share their messages to strengthen the family. Recent examples are Dr. Sam Woods speaking on Marriage Enrichment and Dr. Tedd Tripp presenting the Shepherding a Child’s Heart Seminar.

Married Adult Retreats
Capital Baptist Church has sponsored many marriage retreats. This is a getaway weekend for fellowship, marriage renewal and strengthening, and much needed rest.
